The rules and procedure of publication

1. Upon receiving a submission together with a statement of consent for publication and a note about the author, the editorial board shall decide whether the text meets the formal requirements and whether it falls in the subject matter of the journal. A positive decision will result in the text being sent to the subject editor, who is an expert in the subject matter of the submitted text.

2. The subject editor decides whether the text meets the substantive requirements set of the Com.press. A positive decision results in sending the text to two independent reviewers.

3. Com.press applies the double-blind review policy, which means that neither the author nor the reviewer knows each other identity. The editorial board makes sure that there is no information that reveals the author’s identity in the text which is sent to the review.

4. The reviewers of the submitted text are experts in the subject matter of the article. Reviewers come from academic institutions which are not connected with the affiliation of the author of the text. The list of them is updated annually on the journal’s website.

5. For texts in English, at least one reviewer is affiliated with a research institution from a country where English is an official language.

6. The reviewer may decide to reject the text, request improvements and a re-review, request improvements without a re-review, or accept work without any changes.

7. Comments to the text are sent to the author without revealing the identity of the reviewer via the editorial board.

8. The editorial board is responsible for the material supervision of the review process and the impartiality of the reviewers. In case of justified doubts, the editorial board sends the article to another reviewer.

9. If there is a need for improvements in the text, the editorial board agrees with the author on the deadline for sending the corrected text. Failure to do so results in rejection of the text.

10. The final decision on the text publication is made by the editorial board basing on the conclusions of the reviewers.

11. Once the decision to publish the submitted text has been made, the editorial board shall submit the text to the publishing house which, in close cooperation with the author, shall make all the edits necessary for the composition of the text to be published as an electronic publication.
